CEPA Welcomes Federal Aid Measures for Energy Industry
April 17, 2020 | News Releases

The Canadian Energy Pipeline Association (CEPA) welcomes the federal government’s aid measures to support the energy industry during these unprecedented times. While CEPA looks forward to learning more details regarding the assistance package, we are pleased with today’s announcement of new initiatives that will preserve jobs and provide needed liquidity for the sector.

The energy industry, including transmission pipelines, makes up over 10 per cent of Canada’s GDP and employs more than 800,000 people directly and indirectly, while providing tens of billions in government taxes and royalties that fund vital social programs. It is critical that the industry can continue to provide Canadians the energy we need to sustain our quality of life.
